Handwork & Fiber Arts

Join us for Handwork & Fiber Arts, Tuesdays from 1:30pm to 3:00pm. This series is ongoing. During the course we will:

  • Nature Crochet & Lucet-- make crochet hooks from nature

  • Group Finger Knit a hanging circular play area

  • Learn to braid with a traditional Flettehjul braid

  • Weaving with sticks

  • Knitting (Projects may include: Bean Bags, Farm Animals made from Squares, Water Bottle Holder, Hacky Sacks, Placemats, Wash Towels, Sweaters, Hats)

The series costs $16.50/day (which includes materials), and is open to children ages 7-16. Teacher Lo will lead this class, which will have a maximum of 10 children.

Student guidelines:

• Students must be able to listen and follow instructions
• Students will need to work independently while the teacher works individually with their colleagues
• Students should be able to focus on a task for at least 15 minutes at a time

Art & Journaling

Enjoy an afternoon of creative writing and art with our Lead Grades Teacher Meryn, as we work together to create a working journal. Techniques covered may include sketching, graphite, colored pencil, beeswax crayon, watercolor, and collage. The students will explore poetry, storytelling, and famous quotes for inspiration, while creating their own.

This on-going class runs every Thursday, 1:30pm - 3:00pm. The cost is $16.50/day. It is open to children ages 7+ (students as young as 6 may be able to participate with teacher approval).

• Students will need to work independently while the teacher works individually with their colleagues

Let’s Read!

Reading Specialist, Teacher Abi, leads the children through fun activities that develop the reflexes and brain to obtain reading mastery. Additionally, students work on honing their writing skills using techniques and movements individualized for each child.

Open to children ages 7+, this ongoing class is $16.50/day.

Wednesday - Movement & Games

Wednesday afternoons, 2:00pm - 3:00pm, Teachers Meryn and Jessica will tag-teach this fun-filled class that will challenge your child both physically and mentally as we play games like Snakes in the Meadow, Kingdom Crush, Capture the Flag, as well as cooperative and competitive board games that encourage learning, a growth mindset, and good sportsmanship.

Open to children ages 7+ (6 with teacher approval), this is an ongoing class. $12.00/day

Thursday - Dance

Long-time dance instructor, Teacher Jessica will share her love of expression through dance, Thursdays, 2:00pm - 3:00pm. Students will learn how to connect their body to the rhythms of the music, recall sequences and patterns which make up the choreography of the dance.
